Where do I manage my settings and preferences?
Open the user menu (top-right avatar) and tap Settings. From there you can manage Appearance (dark mode, celebrations, reminders), Language, Accessibility (high contrast, larger text, reduced motion, and a dyslexia-friendly font), Notifications (turn off categories or snooze them until tomorrow, the weekend, or a week), Privacy (hide your profile from roommate search), Safety, Support, and your Account.
How do read receipts work, and can I turn them off?
When read receipts are on, the person you're chatting with can see a “Seen” note under a message once you've read it — and you can see the same from them. It only shows when BOTH of you have receipts on. Turn it off any time in Settings → Privacy → Send read receipts; then neither of you shows “Seen”.
