What is the Moving-In Marketplace?
The Marketplace is where verified students buy and sell physical goods with other students at their school — mini-fridges, desks, textbooks, electronics, and more. Browsing is school-specific, so you see items from your current verified school. Open Marketplace from the top navigation to browse, and tap "Sell an Item" to list something of your own. Dormly does not process payments or guarantee any transaction — it's a place to connect, and you handle the exchange in person.
How do I sell an item in the Marketplace?
Open Marketplace and tap "Sell an Item." A simple stepper walks you through it: add photos, then item info, price & condition, pickup/delivery, review, and publish. You can add up to 8 photos, and Dormly automatically strips hidden location data (EXIF) from them for your privacy. Nothing ever auto-publishes — you can save a draft and come back, and your listing only goes live when you tap Publish.
Who can buy and sell in the Marketplace?
Only verified students at your school can buy and sell, and Marketplace is school-scoped — you browse items from the school your account is verified at, and other students there see yours. Dormly admins and staff have access too (and can see all schools). If you're not a verified student yet, verify your .edu email to unlock the Marketplace.
